Roskam Young Plants Pty Ltd is the new agent for the Florissant flower preservative products in Australia.

FLORISSANT BV is an international operating company dedicated to market top quality flower preservatives. Based in The Netherlands we developed our first products in the late 1970s upon request of the Aalsmeer Flower Auction. Their goal was to secure the longevity of the flowers in order to maintain and extend their leading position in the worldwide flower industry.

        

POST HARVEST TREATMENT; WHY & HOW?

After harvesting, the cut flowers are literally cut off from their source of life which, of course, accelerates the flowers' ageing process. To increase vase life as long as possible, treatment is essential. Throughout the entire floricultural chain, three key problems can be identified: water balance, growth regulator balance and nourishment balance. The growers' phase is crucial. Because flowers take up about 80% of their water requirement within the first two hours, they must get post harvest treatment immediately.

Not all flowers suffer from the same ageing problems. Therefore FLORISSANT has developed different products to give different types of flowers specific care. In the table hereunder you will find different types of flowers grouped together per ageing problem. Search for the type of flower that you are growing in de middle column and you will find the corresponding FLORISSANT product for post harvest treatment in the right column.
